Implement Practical and Proven Encryption Practices

Add to calendar

From its earliest times, software development has featured commercial and government-grade encryption libraries. Encryption libraries make it possible for organizations to protect data with the highest level of security. Gene Chorba says that despite a big push in the past few years to use encryption to combat security breaches, lack of expertise among developers and overly complex libraries have led to widespread implementation failures in business applications. Although any developers believe they know how to implement crypto, they haven't had any specific training in cryptography and have a false sense of security. Therefore, even though they end up with applications where encryption is present and can tick that checkbox, attackers are still able to penetrate and obtain sensitive data. Gene wants to change that. Join Gene as he takes you through the best encryption libraries available, explains what types of applications should be using them, explores the direction that encryption is going, discusses how to implement encryption in your applications, and shares today’s best practices when using encryption.
